Edward Yang’s Yi Yi is one of those films that makes you look at the world differently. It is beautiful in its simplicity. Because, really, it is just the story of a family during one calendar year. But it has a pretty special place in my heart. It’s devastating and uplifting all at the same time.
I guess that’s kind of like life.
